Writing from the Heart
Online Writing Retreat

A Journey of Creative Expression, Contemplation, and Connection with Nature’s Rhythms

9 hours over 3 days: February 7 - 9

With award-winning writers Sensei Sean Murphy, Zen teacher and National Endowment for the Arts Fellow in Creative Writing, and Tania Casselle

Sliding scale fee.

We'll meet via Zoom for 3 live writing sessions over 3 days (total 9 hours) in a weekend retreat designed to invigorate our creative lives and open our hearts to the stories we have to share.
We'll explore ways to free our natural flow of expression, bypass our inner critic, express our authentic voice and access our true source of creativity.   In these challenging times, it’s more important than ever to keep a sense of inner balance and awareness, so mindfulness and other contemplative practices will center and ground us, helping us drop below the surface of our busy lives to connect with the deeper river that flows and sustains us.  Our retreat is designed to harmonize with the season and draw on the wisdom of the natural world. Tune in to the seasonal rhythm that pulses beneath the noise of our modern life - a heartbeat calling us home!

“The whole retreat was inspiring, uplifting, and energizing.”  Previous participant.

Are you an experienced practitioner who wishes to share meditation and mindfulness skills with others? Do you seek to develop your own voice and authentic leadership?

Sage Institute's Meditation Leader Training Program teaches you more than simple meditation techniques — you'll learn the science of meditation, its rich history (including experiential knowledge of contemporary modalities such as MBSR), how to work with difficult emotions in meditation, issues of inclusivity, social change, and trauma-sensitivity, leadership skills such as consulting with students, curriculum and class ideas, and much more. Our intention is to offer depth to the modern mindfulness movement.

Through our comprehensive, secular, 9-month online program, open to practitioners from any contemplative background, you'll gain the skills, confidence, and wisdom to effectively and authentically teach meditation. Guided by Lead Teacher Sean Tetsudo Murphy, Sensei (Zen White Plum Asanga), Sage Institute's program is one of the only meditation teacher training programs backed by a 2500-year old Buddhist lineage.

Payment plans and scholarships are available. Practitioners from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Learn more and apply today: www.sagetaos.com
