Ursula Richard is a Dharma friend, companion and co-activist in committed Buddhism. She also publishes wonderful books in her edition steinrich , one of which we have all probably held in our hands.
In November 2024, she took part in the Zen Peacemakers' Bearing Witness retreat in Auschwitz-Birkenau for the first time . (In 2015, we published the bilingual anthology " AschePerlen - Pearls of Ash & Awe. 20 Years of Bearing Witness in Auschwitz with Bernie Glassman & Zen Peacemakers " on this practice through her publishing house; it is still worth reading today!)
She makes her subtle perceptions and thoughtful reflections during and after this fundamental experience available to us in the PDF document that can be downloaded here: Being Human
She also writes there about insights from the everyday Koan practice, which we have been doing together in an online group for 4 years based on the book “Awakening in Everyday Life. Koans that Life Writes” ( the next cycle starts on March 14th ).
Thank you very much, Ursula. It is wonderful to read your text. It would have fit very well in the AshPearls book.
